AIR

Air is a science fiction short film written in 2018. I wanted to create a short that dealt with time, grief, and guilt. Air was the result.

Air is the story of Kara, a military officer who is stuck in purgatory, flipping through scenes of her life on a loop and trying to change one tragic event.

Air was filmed as a short film in Melbourne, Australia. It premiered at the Motor City Nightmares film festival in Detroit, and screened at several other festivals.

EXT. CITY ALLEY – NIGHT

The night air is smokey, blanketed in a hellish green. Kara stands in front of a gravestone, staring down at it. She’s dressed differently now, though still elaborately, in black.

She puts a gas mask to her face and takes a few breaths before pulling it away.

She doesn’t speak and she doesn’t cry. She barely even moves. But in her eyes we see pain. Guilt. Regret.

Anger.
